Term used to describe the act of a broker. See broker
Mortgage and financial brokerages will vary in size from one man bands to hundreds of employees.
Larger brokerages will normally consist of different departments to manage the different aspects of the mortgage process. There will be new business sales, processing, and and accounts function. When speaking to a brokerage it is often useful to have a designated point of contact for your ongoing queries. Lenders will want different information about you and evidence of your details. This may require several phone calls back and forth and clarification from the lender. You want to be able to phone up and talk to someone you have spoken to before and is familiar with your case.
Brokerages that have whole of market access will be able to refer all non-exclusive mortgages on the market. This means that brokerages that are whole of market should be able to offer the same products. So shopping around in this case woulf only be worthwhile if you are not happy with the broker service or the bees they are charging.
